Music Producers Wanted

If you produce electronic music and would like to sell your music,  WorkoutCD.com may want to buy your music.

We are always looking for motivated, new talent to contribute to our fitness music collection. Currently, we pay between $250 and $500 for original music mixes. Below is an example of the steps it takes to sell your music to WorkoutCD.com.

  1. You contact us to express your desire to sell music to us. Please include any and all background information related to your music production experience such as your music "style", links to work you have already done, what tools, hardware, software you use to create your music, etc. Be sure to include your name, email address, phone number, and instant messenger screenname(s). If you already have music that you have previously produced/created and you have been just sitting on it until you find someone to buy it, or, you would like to make a sample now, send us a sample with this email either as an attatchment or a link.
  2. We reply to your email to let you know if we could use your services or not.
  3. If we have decided that we can use your services, we'll continue correspondence. During this time, we'll be passing ideas back and forth and discussing to amount in which we will pay you once the music is finished.
  4. You, the producer, will now begin work on your project and, in a timely manner, will send us frequent updates of your progress. From these updates, we will let you know if things are going "in the right direction" or if we feel we would like edits to be made.
  5. When you have finished the music mix, you will submit a low quality sample to us (64kb/sec .mp3) for a final review.
  6. If we feel the music is acceptable, we will fax, email, or postal mail to you a 1 page document which grants us (WorkoutCD.com) the non-exclusive rights to edit, market, and sell this music for profit without limitations.
  7. You return a signed copy of the document.
  8. We pay you.
Now that you know how the system works, you'll need to know what kind of music we buy. The following applies to all categories of music we purchase from producers:
  • All music mixes MUST be original work. It may not contain any copyrighted or royalty based music.
  • All music mixes MUST have a runtime of at least 40 minutes.
  • All music mixes MUST sound "clean". Poor audio quality is not acceptable.
  • All music mixes MUST have variety to maintain the listener's interest.

The categories of music we search for include the following:

High Energy Workout Mixes

  • These are mixes that have a faster tempo with uplifting or hard style beats, synths, and vocals or vocal samples. The tempo/bpm of these mixes do not have to maintain a constant rhythm. These mixes could fall into genres of electronic music commonly referred to as progressive trance, vocal trance, breaks, breakbeat, progressive house, hi-nrg, hard-style, and dance.

Cardio Music Mixes

  • These mixes are marketed and targeted to cardio instructors. These are meant for these instructors to use when teaching their classes. These types of classes include step classes, spin classes, cycling classes, aerobics classes, etc. The temp/bpm MUST remain the same through the mix. The beat which maintains the the tempo (drum beat) must never drop off or fade out. These cardio mixes are meant to help keep the class in sync. Vocals or vocal samples within these mixes must be minimal as to not drown out the instructor's voice while they are leading their class.

Running Music Mixes

  • These mixes are for runners and cyclists. The beat should be relatively constant throughout the mix. Runners and Cyclists will use this music to help keep their pace. The music for these mixes should be uplifting. Progressive beats in these mixes are acceptable as long as they don't happen too frequently.

Relaxation Music Mixes

  • These mixes are meant for such activities like massages, spa treatments, and promoting or inducing sleep. These relaxing mixes should contain atmospheric beats and synths and can include calming vocals, chants, and environmental soundscapes. It is important to not make these music mixes sound "sexual". These mixes will be sold to massage therapists and health spas. A relaxing mix that comes off as sounding "sexual" to the listener may create an uncomfotable and undesireable setting.
